I talked to her today about it. That truck has a 1,000 gallon tank. I can't even picture 1,000 gallons in my mind's eye. She told me she puts 700 gallons in it every 20 hours but it's constantly running and over half the time is full of a helluva lotta coal. 3 gallons to the mile when empty is probably accurate. This demonstrates I suppose the point that you have to put energy in to get energy out...duh. Captain Obvious strikes again.

probably about 3 gallons to the mile, in my estimation.
